Therapies

For the last 20 years I have worked as a clinical complementary therapist in the area of emotional and mental healthcare. After graduating from the Institute of Clinical Hypnosis as a master clinical hypnotherapist, I undertook an MSc in Psychology at Queen Mary College and Barts, London University, graduating in 2015. Combining this with my background in counselling skills, psychotherapy, and energy healing, has enabled me to help my clients with a wide range of needs, from simple relaxation techniques, to stress management, anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder, depression, trauma, addictions, fears and phobias, and navigating life and its challenges from a more positive perspective.

I am qualified in, and practise the following therapies, which work very well in their own right, or are even more powerful when combined with homeopathy. It is the combination of therapy alongside homeopathic remedies which is so unique and powerful.

Hypnotherapy

Hypnosis is a very natural state to be in. We all go in and out of the hypnotic state every day. It can feel as if you are daydreaming. For example, if you have ever walked from A to B, and could not remember how you got to B, then you were in hypnosis. If you have ever been so absorbed in a book or a film that it felt that you were actually there, then that is hypnosis. It is a state of inner focus, and it is an altered state of consciousness.

In this state you are highly suggestible, and within the safe therapeutic setting, this is when I will give you all the positive suggestions you will need. In the hypnotic state, imagery and suggestions are accepted into the unconscious mind, and acted upon accordingly.

Hypnotherapy can be used to overcome a wide range of mental and emotional issues which you may be facing in your life.

Clients find that my relaxation techniques have immediate and profound effects, stresses become manageable, and confidence increases, so that they adopt a much more positive attitude to life.

Clients feel liberated when they are able to let go of past trauma or grief. Hypnotherapy can help alter any limiting perceptions and emotions around past events, which may be affecting your current life and relationships.

Hypnotherapy can help deal with anxiety, depression or OCD. It can help change unhelpful behavioural patterns, and release negative thoughts and limiting beliefs. It is very effective for fears and phobias, and empowers clients to change their lives for the better and achieve their goals.

Clients find that the internal harmony and emotional balance created by hypnotherapy, generates new positive realities in their lives.

Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT)

In simplest terms, EFT is acupuncture without needles. It is an emotional form of acupuncture which releases unwanted negative thoughts, beliefs and energies.

Dr Roger Callahan is widely known as the originator of EFT. A psychiatrist, he was interested in complementary therapies and disillusioned with the poor outcomes of traditional psychiatry. This spurred him to develop the tapping technique, as a treatment for a variety of emotional issues. This involved tapping on a sequence of meridian energy points in a set sequence.

Later, one of his students, Gary Craig, developed this further, using 12 of the meridians and called it ‘Emotional Freedom Techniques’. This therapy is highly effective and works by tapping on the meridians while the patient focuses on a specific issue or emotion. It works very well alongside homeopathy.

Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR)

Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing is a powerful psychological therapy developed by Francine Shapiro in the 1980’s, to resolve the development of trauma related disorders caused by major trauma such as assault, rape, road traffic accidents, surgical trauma or military combat.

When a distressing or traumatic experience occurs in your life, it may overwhelm the normal cognitive and neurological coping mechanisms. Thus, the memory of the traumatic event is inadequately processed. The goal of EMDR therapy is to process these distressing memories, thereby reducing their lingering influence on our life, and allow the client to develop more helpful and adaptive coping mechanisms. In short, it allows the client to move forward with his life.

Reiki

Reiki is a Japanese word meaning universal life force energy. It is a subtle healing energy and it is not linked with any specific religious teaching.

Reiki provides us with a resource which can help us to bring ourselves, and others, towards a place of balance and harmony. In this state of balance and renewed energy we can heal. Reiki works by facilitating the patient’s natural self-healing functions, complementing and accelerating the natural healing processes for emotional, mental and physical health.

A reiki treatment is very calming and relaxing. The Reiki is ‘received’ by the patient, through the therapist hands in a very gentle and non-invasive way.

The Reiki goes exactly where it is needed, and may move between the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual levels of the energy field. It enables the client to move to a place of balance, and it may take several treatments to facilitate this process.

Therapies working with homeopathy – unique integrated healthcare

Each of these therapies works very well on its own, and great steps can be made in moving forward with your life.

However, when we combine any one of these therapies with homeopathic remedies, then the effect is even more powerful, and clients typically notice immediate and profound improvements in mental and physical health.

My clients have found that problems become much more manageable, anxiety lessens, and they generally feel much more relaxed and energised. Physical symptoms diminish as they move to optimum wellbeing.
